About
-
Established in 1972 as a summer program of the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, we continue to present concert performances throughout the year in the metro Atlanta, GA area.
The band continues in its fifty-second year and continues to perform challenging pieces for its members and entertaining music for its audiences. During its over five decades of musical performance, the concert band has matured into one of the finest ensembles of its type in the southeast.
Founded under the baton of Charles Bradley, famed director of the outstanding East Atlanta Elementary Band, the band continued with George Webster as director and temporarily paused operations in the summer of 1973. Enjoying consistent leadership, the band has enjoyed five Music Directors while presenting music to the community.
The band recently served as host for the highly successful Association of Concert Band Southeast Regional Connections event during which the full band was honored to perform the keynote concert to end the event.
